The lesser celebrated Santorini
Santorini has few other quaint little places that offer some more photo opportunities and are less crowded. The first photo opportunity was at the Red beach or rather close to Red beach which is named after its crimson volcanic background and resulting sand. It is situated near the village of Akrotiri but was off limits at the time of our visit. A short walk up the hill will lead you to the view of blue and red below. You have plenty of fruit and snack vendors along the way. The fresh Juicy mouth watering fruits of greece will energies you like no other. A must have!! The red beach The next stop over was at the village of Pyrgos. This hillside village had more of white washed churches ,blue domes, narrow winding paths,cafes and of course the lovely views of vineyards. A short drive away on the highest peak of the Island is the Monastery of Prophet Elias. A replica of a citadel , this monastery came to existence in 1711. Though the physical fatigue, lack o...
